Introduction

Judy Gelfert has been recognized on the national level in juried shows and exhibits since 2003, and her work has found its way into private collections in the USA, Europe and Latin America.

With an unmistakable style, she captures subject matter ranging from urban scenes to figures, interiors, and landscapes, and infuses each work with life and fresh spirit.

Artist Statement: "I am fascinated by the way sunlight plays on form, and by its infinite palette and power to create a particular atmosphere."

In oil and canvas she has found the perfect medium to create works of rich atmosphere and bathed in light. Her paintings are loose and impressionistic, yet they produce realistic effects by concentrating on color relationships and value rather than detail.
